Max Osborn (he/they) is Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology & Criminology at Villanova University.
His research addresses institutional violence toward sexual and gender minority populations, depictions of transgender people in crime news and media, and consequences of abuse and victimization. Max’s work has been published across multiple disciplines and can be found in outlets including Critical Criminology, Journal of Gay and Lesbian Social Services, Feminist Criminology, and Punishment & Society.
He is the author of Queer and Trans Risk and Resistance: Responses to Institutional Violence and the co-author, with Valli Rajah and Janani Umamaheswar, of Anti-Racist Criminology: Research, Teaching, and Public Engagement, both forthcoming from NYU Press.
